January is Thyroid Awareness Month. This is a public health and awareness campaign that aims to educate about the different thyroid diseases and their symptoms. Also, Thyroid Awareness Month raises awareness of the common endocrine disorder, which is actually more common than heart disease or diabetes, according to the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. In fact, it affects approximately 30 million Americans with more than half who are still undiagnosed. Therefore, we will discuss the purpose of this month, in addition to ways you can contribute.
